About Tess Bates

Tess Bates is a qualified Manx Advocate with over 15 years in compliance and regulation across the Isle of Man's financial services sector. She has run compliance departments from the inside, which means she knows the difference between practical, commercial compliance and compliance that just satisfies a regulator.

Her work spans compliance assessments, policy development, ongoing monitoring, remediation, board governance, and training, across TCSPs, accounting practices, estate agencies, legal services, and fund administration.

Having moved from law into compliance (from the dark side to the darker side, as she'd describe it), she has spent years translating complex and technical into  commercial and practical for businesses that just need to know what to do and how get on with it.
